I began drawing like all young children at an early age, and won my first art contest at age 8. While studying art in college I started to work for a motion picture studio as a Scenic Artist. That stage of my life lasted over 20 years, working on numerous feature length films, IMAX movies, and television series and movies.

I have been in love with the Hawaiian Islands, their people, culture, landscape, and flora for a long time, but until 2003 only visited. In 2003 we moved to Maui and now reside upcountry on the slopes of Haleakela.

In my art I try to portray a reflection of nature, the cycle of life, through multiple layers of reality. Taking time to truly see God's creations in this earthly beauty. I not only want to capture the likeness of the subject, but also the spirit, feeling, and emotion as well.
